DESCRIPTION:This exhibition tells the story of medical care in war and peacekeeping since 1945… \nVictorian men and women have helped the sick and wounded across the world\, including in Korea\, Malaya\, Vietnam\, Rwanda\, East Timor\, Iraq and Afghanistan. They have braved sometimes dire conditions and desperate circumstances\, often coming under direct threat of death and harm. \nThe exhibition explores themes of life\, death and compassion: what it means to preserve life when those around you are taking it; why enemies need treatment as much as your own do; how the long term health effects of service can become apparent only decades later; and how minds can be wounded and need treatment just as bodies do.
