DESCRIPTION:A Public Lecture by Alexander Muscat \n\n \n\n \nThis lecture explores the dramatic and tragic events of the Roman siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD\, a turning point in Jewish and Roman history. It covers the background of the First Jewish-Roman War\, the leaders and factions on both sides\, the weapons and siege tactics the Romans used\, the internal struggles of the Zealots\, the destruction of the Temple\, and the lasting legacy the siege left on Judaism and the Roman Empire. \n\n\nClick here to download the flyer for this lecture. \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\nAlexander Muscat is the audio-visual coordinator of The Military History Society of NSW. He holds a double degree of a Bachelor of Secondary Education/Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) from Australian Catholic University with a major in History and a minor in Studies of Religion. He is currently employed as a high school teacher in Sydney and has been working for two years. His main interest is in biblical history and the Roman Empire’s occupation of the Middle East. \n\n\n\n\n\nLecture Time & Venue\n\n\nSaturday\, 4 October 2025\, 10:30AM-11:30AM\, Auditorium\, Anzac Memorial Hyde Park\, corner Elizabeth and Liverpool Streets\, Sydney CBD.
