He teaches twentieth-century world history\, and Australia in the two World Wars. Bart is an historian of Australian experiences of the First World War\, and memory and commemoration of war in Australia and abroad. Rival groups then turned on each other.\n‘Resistance‚Äô and ‚ÄòUnderground‚Äô are names used to describe the various secret organisations that arose in European states under enemy occupation during the Second World War. Many Australian servicemen and women gave aid to the Resistance\, other Australians owed their freedom and lives to it.
