DESCRIPTION:Hear from Emily Jateff who was Chief Scientist on board RV Investigator when it discovered the final resting place of SS Iron Crown. The vessel\, sunk by a Japanese submarine off the Victorian coastline in June 1942\, was discovered in 2019 in a collaboration between CSIRO and Heritage Victoria. \n \nPresenter: Emily Jateff \nDate: Tuesday 3 September\, midday \nLocation: Education Centre\, Shrine of Remembrance \nCost: $5\, free for Shrine Friends \nThe annual Merchant Navy service will follow at 2pm.

DESCRIPTION:All you model and radio remote control model enthusiasts will want to visit the National Vietnam Veterans Museum on Sunday 8 September – the week after Father’s Day.\nThe following clubs are putting on displays of their amazing and remarkable models at the Museum for your pleasure and enjoyment. South West Amalgamated Model Plane Society; Phillip Island District Railway Modellers; Large Scale Radio Control Club; The Pakenham Modellers Group; Victorian Armoured Remote Control Club; Phillip Island Gamers Society. \n \nThere will be action\, noise and excitement. Come along and have a look – this will be a real treat. Don’t forget you can also look through the Museum and watch the holographic Light & Sound Show. The Industry Development and Innovation Division is responsible for the support and growth of Victorian industry through the development of strategies\, policy and programs to grow jobs and facilitate investment and trade opportunities. The Manager – Defence\, Aerospace and Security Sector Development leads a small team to support the growth of Victoria’s defence\, aerospace and security industries. \nPreviously Mike was an Artillery Officer\, rising to the Rank of Brigadier when he left the military in 2013. In his latter career he had extensive experience in Army Materiel. His appointments included:\n• Director General Integrated Soldier Systems\, and\n• Director General Land Manoeuvre Systems \nCoffee and Tea from 12.00 pm.\, sandwiches after.
