South Vietnamese Soldiers: Memories of the Vietnam War and After

To be launched by¬†Professor Peter Edwards,¬†Official Historian of Australia’s Involvement in Southeast¬†Asian Conflicts 1948-1975With an opening address by¬†Professor Alistair Thomson,¬†School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies¬†Monash University

The book breaks new ground by shedding light on an essentially unexplored aspect of the war: the histories of the men – and women – who served in the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces. Drawn from a new oral history collection at the National Library of Australia, South Vietnamese Soldiers examines the experiences of two generations of soldiers and provides insights on their military service as well as their postwar lives.
