Centenary of the Armistice of Moudros Keynote Address by Historian and Secretary of the LGCC Jim Claven

On behalf of Lee Tarlamis OAM President of the Lemnos Gallipoli Commemorative Committee (LGCC), I would like to invite you to attend the Centenary of the Armistice of Moudros Keynote Address by Historian and Secretary of the LGCC Jim Claven
10.30 am Education Centre Shrine of Remembrance followed by Commemorative Service Shrine of Remembrance Sanctuary 11.45 am on 31 October 2018

This commemorative service marks the centenary of the coming into effect of the Armistice of Moudros at noon on 31 October 1918. The Armistice was signed the previous day on the British warship HMS Agamemnon anchored in the Greek island of Lemnos’ Moudros Bay by representatives of the Entente Powers and those of the Ottoman Empire.

The Keynote Address will be given by Historian and Secretary of our Committee Jim Claven who will discuss this agreement which ended the fighting between the Allies and the Ottoman Empire across the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East and affected tens of thousands of Australian soldiers throughout the region.

There is no need to book or RSVP for the Commemorative Service in the Shrine Sanctuary.
