Geelong Women and the First World War

January 1, 1970 @ 10:00 am

The First World War was not just men’s business.
Thousands of Australian women responded to the demands of the war, and found themselves acting in an extraordinary range of dangerous situations and in diverse capacities.

Join Dr Janet Butler and Dr Ruth Lee as they delve deep inside the experiences of two Geelong women at war – Sister Kit McNaughton and Dr Mary De Garis – to see how these women took part in a war that brought their professionalism and emotional endurance to the fore.

Light refreshments will be provided.
