George Ingram VC, MM

To mark the 80th anniversary of the Shrine Guard, join Anthony McAleer as he recounts the heroic life of an original Shrine Guard.
George Ingram VC, MM served in the First World War at Rabaul manning the guns and then faced the horrors of the Western Front with the 24th Battalion. He survived the killing grounds of Bullecourt, Ypres, Flanders, Passchendaele, Villers Bretonneux and Mont St Quentin. George was the last Australian to receive a VC in the First World War.

Prior to this program, a service of remembrance will be held on the Forecourt to commemorate this significant occasion. All visitors are invited to attend.
