Reading: As Told By The Boys Who Fed Me Apples

January 1, 1970 @ 10:00 am

Reading with Actor Andre Jewson and Sound Designer Michael Havir. Directed Greg Carroll, Writer: R.Johns.
Sandy was the only Australian horse to return home from the First World War. Sandy’s unknown story is told through the Major General wounded at Gallipoli, a Veterinary Officer on the Western front, and the groom who brings Sandy home. Each strangely affected by their symbiotic relationship with the horse. The brutality of war and the heroic lives of the men and horses that served are captured in this reading, with a haunting, original sound design.

Nominated for an AWGIE award 2016, selected for the 2017 VCE Drama curriculum (produced La Mama Courthouse) and premiered Big West Festival 2015. The production was supported by the Australian Government’s Anzac Centenary Arts and Culture Fund
